Licenses, Certifications, and Education
Heather is a nationally certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine and is a Licensed Acupuncturist in California. She is also board certified in Oriental Reproductive Medicine and has a post-graduate certification in Chinese Medicine Pediatrics. Formerly a Certified Massage Therapist, Heather is trained in several modalities of bodywork, including Tui Na and Shiatsu. She received her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM) from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM), her Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Certificate from Mills College, and her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Environmental Studies from Middlebury College.
Heather's Clinical Training
Heather has extensive clinical training with excellent Chinese medicine practitioners in America, including LiFang Liang, author of Acupuncture & IVF. She also trained with renowned Chinese doctors at YueYang Hospital in Shanghai, China. Heather enjoys working with other health care providers. Her clinical experiences in integrative settings include: Pacific Fertility Center, Laurel Fertility Care, UCSF Center for Reproductive Health, CPMC Stroke and Rehabilitation Center, Jewish Home for the Aged, and Haight Ashbury Free Clinic. Currently, she is regularly on-site at fertility clinics throughout San Francisco offering pre- and post- IUI and IVF acupuncture services. Heather also volunteers as an Acupuncturist at the Charlotte Maxwell Complimentary Clinic serving low-income women with cancer. When she is not in the clinic, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, being active outdoors, and traveling abroad.
